-- Every Saturday through the Saratoga Race Track season we are meeting on the overpass that goes over Route 7 just before Route 87 turns toward Saratoga. It’s a busy prime spot to get out our message: OMG GOP WHY?!
Come join us there from noon-1 p.m. We have letters for the big sign but could use more Anti-MAGA signs and flags. Just set your GPS to St. Ambrose Church on New Loudon Road and park in their lot. The overpass is just a few steps away.
It is a safe spot and we’ve gotten a big response in our two previous outings. Come on down and join the fun!
-- The Colonie Democratic Committee is holding its annual picnic fundraiser, and we invite you to join us. This fun family event will be held on Saturday, August 9 from noon to 3:00 at the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department on Old Niskayuna Road. To purchase tickets or become an event sponsor, call Mike Blue at 518-245-6817.
-- The next meeting of Colonie Indivisible is coming up soon! Join us at the Celtic Hall on New Karner Rd. Monday, August 11, from 5 to 7 pm.
This month's speaker will be Alison McLean Lane, the Democratic Board of Elections Commissioner for Albany County. She will speak with us about poll work, election law and voting place security.
We also want to continue to support RISSE, the wonderful refugee and immigant support service organization. If you are able, please donate school supplies for the children they are helping. They have requested book bags, note books, pencil cases, crayons or other supplies. Your generosity will ease the burden of starting up in a new school in a new place for migrants and refugees in our area. Thank you in advance!
-- Any Day you Choose: Call Elise Stefanik to demand accountability for voting to gut Medicaid and SNAP. Show her there's a political price for betraying our communities. Tell her you are disgusted by her vote to cut vital programs to give tax breaks for the wealthy.
