-- Our next monthly meeting is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 12. Please note the new time. As always, we are gathering at the Celtic Hall on New Karner Road. Our guest speaker at this meeting will be Rex Smith, former managing editor of the Times Union and current moderator of the weekly 30-minute “Media Project” program on WAMC, as well as a Substack columnist. Mr. Smith will present a realistic discussion about where we are legally, legislatively, and politically with voting and elections. Your are not gonna want to miss this one!
-- On Monday, January 12, at 11 am, join us on the Million Dollar Staircase inside the NYS Capitol in Albany for “A March for the Disappeared.” At this march, we will demand that elected officials pass the New York for All Act to ensure that State resources are never used for ICE abductions. Activists are expected from across the State.
-- On Tuesday, January 13, the Greater Capital Region Coalition is planning a Vigil of Hope and Solidarity for our immigrant neighbors from 5 to 6:30 pm at West Capitol Park in Albany. We feel it is a fitting way to celebrate Three Kings Day. We just hope that the weather will be more pleasant.
